Following her career in education as a Math Teacher and Assistant Principal, Terra sold 100+ homes in her first two years as a licensed agent landing her in the top 5% of all real estate professionals in America before then being named one of the first Real Producers Rising Stars in the Richmond area as well as to both Richmond Magazine’s Top Referred REALTOR® and Five Star Professional Award twice. This helped ensure she mastered the nuances of home, land, and multifamily resales and new builds across all market areas and price points. During this time, Shawn joined her as a licensed REALTOR® focusing on rural and historic sales thanks to his background as a seasoned History Teacher of 20+ years and growing up on a Caroline County farm with a family of contractors.
They began renovating both rental and resale properties in 2019, and after various projects all over the Greater Richmond area decided to renovate a 40-year shuttered triplex in Urbanna. This then led to their first foray into Airbnb rentals in 2023 as well as their restaurant, the Urbanna Pearl Oyster Tavern, being born in 2024. Personally managing their own renovation projections and rental properties helps them further identify opportunities and financing options for their clients' personal and investment goals. At the end of 2024, Terra started serving on both VAR and RAR committees to ensure she was not only abreast of the newest developments in their ever-evolving industry but also to help ensure fellow agents are well trained and held accountable with consumers’ best interests always kept the top priority during real estate transactions before then being asked to serve on a funds subcommittee in 2026. After two more major renovation projects in 2025, Shawn and his father founded PickettBuilt to offer their construction and renovation services to the public.
Terra and Shawn have now immersed themselves in all aspects of real estate for 7 years, and after Terra served as a mega team’s Sales Manager and then a Associate Broker for a top local brokerage, they decided it was time to officially start their own team together. Their local real estate expertise coupled with their Class A renovation business ensures that their clients’ homes hit the market with all basic punch list items tackled as well as those who have found their next home have a reliable, honest option for bathroom and kitchen facelifts to full-blown additions when they just don’t want to move again.
